½ cup brown sugar
-
¼ cup white sugar
-
1 large egg
-
1¼ cups all-purpose flour
-
½ tsp baking soda
-
½ tsp salt

¾ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
1. Make the Brownie Batter
-
In a medium bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until combined.
-
Add eggs and vanilla, and whisk until smooth.
-
Sift in cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Stir until just combined.
-
Do not overmix—just until no dry streaks remain.
2. Prepare the Cookie Dough
-
In another bowl, cream softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
-
Add in the egg and vanilla extract. Beat until smooth.
-
Mix in flour, baking soda, and salt.
-
Fold in chocolate chips.
💡 Pro Tip: Chill cookie dough in the fridge for 10 minutes while you prepare the pan.
3. Layer the Batters
-
Line a square baking pan with parchment paper.
-
Spread the brownie batter evenly at the bottom.
-
Dollop spoonfuls of cookie dough over the brownie layer.
-
Gently press cookie dough flat with a spatula or fingers.
4. Bake
-
Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30–35 minutes.
-
Check doneness with a toothpick—it should come out with moist crumbs, not raw batter.
-
Cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
